My Current TBR Pile #1

Hey guys,

I’ve done it! I’ve posted something every day this WEEK. (Except for Sunday, but I posted 2 posts on Saturday so I’ll count it.)

Today I got this idea for this post from Ellie at

http://www.ontheothersideofreality.org

For those who don’t know, TBR stands for to be read pile. So I thought I’d let you guys in on what I have planned to read for now.

Heartless, by Marissa Meyer. FOR THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW I LOOOOVVVVEEE MARISSA MEYER. To me, she is arguably higher than Brandon Sanderson high (and that’s PRETTY HIGH!) For those who don’t know she is the author of the Lunar Chronicles, which I rated every book a 5/5 stars. So I KNOW IT WILL BE AMAZEBALLS. Right now I’m on page 100 out of something and I expect that I’ll finish it by the end of the week.(We’ll see how that goes though)
Goodreads-Heartless by: Marissa Meyer

I bought this lovely recently! It’s the second in a trilogy involving CRAZINESS. Honestly it’s best to go in blind to this dystopian series, It make the series a WHOLE LOT BETTER when you aren’t aware what’s going to happen to these amazing characters.
Goodreads- Prodigy by: Marie Lu
The Final book I’m planning to read soon is……

The Enchanter Heir by: Cinda Williams Chima! For those who don’t know, I LOVVEE Cinda’s work. Her fantasy books are the bomb dot com! She just has this way with coming up with the most ingenigous ways to incorporate magic into everyday life! I hope to read this after I finish Heartless so be on the look out for a review ASAP!

That’s it! These are the three books I’m going to be reading this week!

I even managed to only put in one gif! NEW RECORD!

Thank’s for reading this post! Let me know in the comments below what you’re planning to read this week! Until next time! Bye READER FAM!

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem. (Goodreads Summary)

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

cooltext133089303484155 Well this book was amazing. I knew I wanted to read it soon, but I guess I just always never got to it. Now finally I have and this book is amazing. There are two characters, June and Day. Day is a criminal, and June is a detective leading so different worlds their worlds suddenly crossing paths. I love this batch of characters, this is literally my favorite book I’ve read this year!

cooltext133089343094800Well this book is amazing. There was a bunch of  plots twists that were amazing, although I saw one a mile away. The world building was good too, this is not your normal dystopian book. It is fast paced and does not have the normal or usual plot line for a dystopian story. This story is original and is a little like Les Miserables.

cooltext133089378843909 I didn’t hate anything it all looks amazing!

I love everything about this book the characters, the plot, the story it was all so amazing I have no words on how to describe to you this book!

REVIEW-Pretties by: Scott Westerfeld

cooltext133089402245467

Gorgeous. Popular. Perfect.

Perfectly wrong.

Tally has finally become pretty. Now her looks are beyond perfect, her clothes are awesome, her boyfriend is totally hot, and she’s completely popular. It’s everything she’s ever wanted.

But beneath all the fun — the nonstop parties, the high-tech luxury, the total freedom — is a nagging sense that something’s wrong. Something important. Then a message from Tally’s ugly past arrives. Reading it, Tally remembers what’s wrong with pretty life, and the fun stops cold.

Now she has to choose between fighting to forget what she knows and fighting for her life — because the authorities don’t intend to let anyone with this information survive.

cooltext133089303484155Well for the most part I really liked the characters.  Tally Youngblood is getting more awesome by each book. She is quick, fast, and her voice is an easy one to read. Overall I really enjoyed her character as well as all the other’s that this book follows!

cooltext133089343094800

Well while I really enjoyed this  book the beginning was dragged around a little but the other half was a bit amazing, I enjoyed it but didn’t enjoy it as much as Uglies the first in the series.

cooltext133089378843909

If the third book says bubbly I will freak out. This book focuses on being inside new pretty town. UGH I swear every time they said that I rolled my eyes. I think this book suffered from middle book syndrome but overall I really enjoyed this book. Sorry for the shortness of the review but I honestly read this so fast I barely remember all of it. But the ending is amazing!

CLOSED-Review+ Giveaway The Fire of Invention by: J. Scott Savage

Age: 10-13

# of pages:

cooltext133089402245467 13-Year old Trenton Coleman lives in what most people would say is a total nightmare. in the cove, (A city that has sealed itself in a mountain) Creativity is bad, and Invention is a swear word. Life is always normal. the government has a strict set of rules for making or building something. It has to be approved and it can’t be new. Until one day Trenton bends the rules to impress a girl named Simoni The government catches him and says he has 2 options. First he be sent to re-Training (Which most people don’t ever act the same when they finish it) Or to go inside one of the coal machines to grab a piece that was messing up the electricity in the Cove. We then follow Trenton as he chose to go inside the machine. He ends up finding a clue to something, Something not approved by the Government. but everything goes downhill from there, Then we meet Kallisa Babbage. the daughter of a “crazy” inventor (oops I swore (;  ) Kallisa’s father, Leo was tampering with a water heater (which is not approved) By the way and made it explode killing everyone in the building. Kallista believe’s that the clue Trenton found was left for her and she needs to continue to find the rest of the clues her father has left behind for her. They then partner up to find all the clues Leo Babbage has left. Did I forget to mention that at almost every clue there was spare parts. But what exactly do they make? Is Leo Babbage really crazy? Is everything what It seems to be? Find out in The Fire of Invention by: J. Scott Savage.

cooltext133089303484155I really liked the characters in this book. My favorite character has got to be Trenton (Main character) Right off the bat you can tell Trenton isn’t someone who follows rules. His personality was just so realistic and human. At the beginning of the book he was a shy/confident guy  what I mean by that is that he was shy on the social side of things but confident in his machines. But by the end of the book he was confident!

cooltext133089343094800 In short, everything!

In long: I loved the story line! The plot was just so rich and the story left you wanting more! This world is just so interesting! I just loved this story! Notice I’m doing a lot of !’s But seriously it was great!, No swearing! (Which is always good in a children’s book)  I’ve never read anything by Savage but now I can see I totally missed out! I seriously read this book in two sittings. Right of the bat Savage just captivates the audience into this irregular world that leaves you hungry for more. I just can’t begin to describe this book, it’s just plain amazing! I am so excited for everyone to read this! If you have a 10-13 year old that likes fantasy this is the book for you! So if you do get it ASAP! This is a must read!

cooltext133089378843909I have to wait for the next book NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!

SYNOPSIS:

Trenton Colman is a creative thirteen-year-old boy with a knack for all things mechanical. But his talents are viewed with suspicion in Cove, a steam-powered city built inside a mountain. In Cove, creativity is a crime and “invention” is a curse word.

Kallista Babbage is a repair technician and daughter of the notorious Leo Babbage, whose father died in an explosion—an event the leaders of Cove point to as an example of the danger of creativity.

Working together, Trenton and Kallista learn that Leo Babbage was developing a secret project before he perished. Following clues he left behind, they begin to assemble a strange machine that is unlikely anything they’ve ever seen before. They soon discover that what they are building may threaten every truth their city is founded on—and quite possibly their very lives.

Review The Giver By: Lois Lowry

the giver
cooltext133089402245467Jonas’s world is perfect. Everything is under control. There is no war or fear or pain. There are no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the Community. When Jonas turns twelve, he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. The Giver alone holds the memories of the true pain and pleasure of life. Now, it is time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back.

cooltext133089303484155

Well My favorite character in this book is probably The Giver. He is an old man filled with mystery and wonder and I think that that is part of one of the reasons that I like him so much. I loved learning about him and the way he explained stuff in this book just captivated me in a way I haven’t been captivated before!

cooltext133089343094800

Well I liked a lot of things in this story, I loved the shortness of the book but I loved how long or how everlasting it was. It wasn’t a gripping page turner but a sort of relaxing, fun, read. I really loved how they explained the colors and didn’t use color to describe things and I really liked that!

cooltext133089378843909

I honestly felt like this book rushed this a little too fast for me but I have to say, for me the first time for me reading this was a little better than this time.

Thanks for reading my review Make sure to comment or subscibe and I will have another post up soon so, goodbye!

Uglies By: Scott Westerfeld

# of pages: 278

Author: Scott Westerfeld

Summary:In this futeristic world all teens wait till they turn 16 to undergo a massive surgery to be changed from a normal ugly into a pretty. Tally Youngblood has dreamed of being a pretty. But when her friend Shay runs away the Government wont make her a pretty, unless she finds Shay. The one who made her stuck being Ugly.

1432764512336

Characters: I really liked Tally. She didn’t have crazy story development but it was more mild and more focused on the part that she needed to find Shay to be a pretty. I wasn’t really a fan of Shay especially at the end. But I sort of liked her at the beginning. I also want to learn more about her Tally Youngblood’s family and her friend. Allegiant By: Veronica Roth

# of Pages: 526

Author: Veronica Roth

Summary: This is the third and final book in the Divergent trilogy. Tris and Tobias lead the city to get out of Chicago. While getting out though they meet someone. Someone so important. The creators, the creators of Chicago…

1432764717396

Characters: Well I kind of actually prefered Tobias’s point of view. I loved to listen and learn all about the mysterious Tobias Eaton. I didn’t actually like Tris in the final book. I mean I didn’t not like her but I just enjoyed Tobias’s POV. But I also enjoyed to see Tris developing into this awesome fighting character.

What I liked: I loved learning about the outside of the gate. The ending was to die for. It was beautifully written and I loved the ending but hated it. If you don’t know what happens at the end  pick up this book and read it. It’s not the best book but try to work your way through the writing.
