Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan; Director of The Dark Knight Saga, and the new World War 2 movie, Dunkirk. After watching the Dark Knight Trilogy I went into the movie with very high expectations and was not disappointed at all.
For those who don’t know, Inception is set in the future and follows actor Leonardo Dicaprio as he assembles a group to go into the mind of a businessman, and steal his secrets. As we follow the group on there quest to steal the memories, we start to learn more about what drives the group to do what they do, and it ends up resulting in a very complex masterpiece.
Easily one of the most controversial parts of the movie; the plot was both, amazing, beautiful, and could possibly be confusing to mainstream movie-goers. This movie is one that you WILL get lost in if you don’t pay attention. If you choose to even look at your phone for a quarter of a second you will be lost. There are also so many crucial elements to the plot that even looking away for a second will easily make the movie less meaningful.
Another thing that made this movie great was the effects and the action. It all just felt so natural and fluid. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, either by amusement or by anticipation of the end.
Speaking of the end, I have to say that it was in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. It wrapped everything up perfectly, I feel like in almost all of Christopher Nolan’s movies, he always makes the end very simple and profound. It’s a very deep thinker movie, so if you’re not into that type of thing, I would recommend finding somebody who does understand it and watch it with them.
Overall, I thought this movie was a very good one, and I HIGHLY recommend seeing it. While the plot may be a bit complex, what you get out of the movie by the end makes you look at things a bit different. I don’t know about you, but if a movie makes me look at things differently, I consider it a win in my book.
