My January Wrap-Up 2018

Can you believe it? We are OFFICIALLY in February! This month in January I can say that I have successfully read 3 BOOKS! I know, I know, it’s pretty bad. But two of them were over 500 pages, and the other one was a 1000 page book. So, if I were to give a rough estimate of how many pages I’ve read this month, it’d be around 2000 pages.

2000 PAGES!

Okay, without further ado let’s get into what you guys are here for, here’s the post!

Books I read this Month

The Way of Kings:  We follow multiple continents worth of characters 1000 years in the future after these mysterious guardians have given up on protecting the world. It’s very interesting, entertaining, and my favorite book of 2018 so far.

Wonder Woman: Warbringer: In this book, we follow young Diana aka. Wonder Woman living and practicing on her home island called Themysquiera. Everything is fine until a girl from the world of man accidentally crashes into the island sparking up a number of questions and concerns in the world of the Amazons. Was a very interesting read, unfortunately, It wasn’t as nearly as good as the Wonder Woman movie. 🙁

Warcross: Follows a rainbow-haired bounty hunter on her quest to find a mysterious hacker in a virtual reality competition. Overall this was a pretty interesting read, the romance was unnecessary, and the characters were a bit annoying but the worldbuilding was cool.

My Current Read:

Currently, I am on page 25 and I’m on the edge of my seat, loving that I’m getting back into this world. BTW, the commandant is freaking scary, and the catacombs keep giving me Edgar Allen Poe vibes.

  1. January flew by, and I can’t believe it’s already February either! Honestly 3 books isn’t bad at all! During school, sometimes I get lucky if I can get in 1 book a month. I had high hopes for Wonder Woman, since I enjoyed the movie so much. Too bad you didn’t like it. And I was also extremely excited for Warcross, but it fell short of my expectations. It seems like I had similar problems with the book that you did too. UGH I really need to read A Torch Against the Night! Loved book one, but haven’t had the chance to pick up the sequel. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I KNOW! LIKE where was she in my life????? SUPER glad that I found her. Also, the 2000 pages is a BIG ACHIEVEMENT considering I had finals and tests all through the month. Hoping I can get more reading time in this month but… Thank’s for commenting!

  3. YEAH! I’m currently around halfway in A Torch against the Night and are enjoying it a TON more than I did with A Ember in the Ashes. I also, am a bit sad about the Wonder Woman ordeal but are hoping that I can somehow forget about it. 🙁 Thank’s for commenting. In Warcross the world had so much potential, but sadly the plot didn’t do it for me. I’m glad you liked it though. 🙂

  4. Thank you for the mini feature, Jared! ^_^

Finishing a Brandon Sanderson book is a feat in itself. xD I’ve tried to read Steelheart before but failed miserably. 🙁 I’m a bit scared to check out Wonder Woman now, since I looooved the movies. I agree with your thoughts on Warcross, though. The romance didn’t make any sense and took away from the book overall. D:

Good luck and happy reading in February! ^_^

  5. REALLY? It takes a TON Of hard work and motivation, but every time I come out of reading one of his books, it ALWAYS manages to impress. If I were you I unfortunately wouldn’t read Wonder Woman again. I’ve been trying not to think about it and are somehow hoping I can forget it entirely. (Probably not going to happen, but I try) I also agree with you about Warcross. Thank’s for visiting!
