My BRILLIANT Winter Quarter goals 2018

Hey guys,

Over the past couple posts, I’ve had comments on them that are from people that know that I do GOALS! I LOVE GOALS! Once I get my mind set on something, I CAN complete it!  Since you guys liked these posts last year, I figured I might as well let you all in on my goals for my personal life, as well as my blogging and reading life this quarter.

Read 15 books.

I know, I know, reading. This season I’m trying to make my reading goal a bit more manageable because I’m trying to focus more on blogging and writing this quarter.  Plus, a lot of the books I want to read are REALLY BIG BOOKS! One of my goals overall for the year is to read bigger books.

Finish The Stormlight Archives

As part of me reading 15 books this quarter, I also wanted to finish reading ALL 3 books that are currently out in The Stormlight Archives. Currently, I’m on book 1, and are 800 pages in, and are hoping to finish it sometime this week. (Keep in mind this first one is the shortest, and it’s 1000 pages)

Finish plotting my Murder-mystery/Fantasy Novel

For those who don’t know, I’ve been plotting a novel idea for the last month with an idea that has stuck with me for almost a year now. It’s been slowly growing, and It’s finally taking shape. I’ve finally figured out what the plot is, and who all of the characters are, but the problem is I don’t know anything about my setting. My goal for the next three months is to figure out the setting and work out any last minute details before I start writing in April.

Schedule posts in advance

This is something that I’ve been struggling with the past couple of weeks. Ever since my glorious return, I’ve started writing posts whenever I want too. I’ve never maintained a schedule, and it hasn’t been working out as well as I hoped. So, I’m shifting gears and trying something new. By doing this, I’m hoping to better engage with my readers by spending more time to reply to comments.

Re-read and edit my Sci-Fi Novel

About a year ago I wrote and edited a science fiction novel based on a retired bounty hunter that is being tasked with the mission to steal a secret weapon being created that could destroy the world. It sort of has a Star Wars vibe, but it’s very different in the sense that he is dealing with PTSD from his last mission in which half of his crew ends up being killed. He’s very self-conscious, and it’s SUPER interesting. The last time I finished it, I believe I was around 50K. I’m hoping to look back at it and see what I can do to edit it and make it as amazing as it possibly can be.

Get my Eagle Scout

For those who don’t know, yes, I am a Boy Scout. With my 16th birthday just around the corner, in America, that means you can get your Driver’s License. An unspoken rule in my family’s house is that in order to drive (Yes I’m 15), you have to have your Eagle Scout Rank. I am BEYOND close, and only have one more thing to do before I can get it! *Flails arms*

Interview 3 Authors

In order to spice up my posts, I want to get back to interviewing authors, (and maybe even host another giveaway) It was awesome to ask author’s where they got their ideas and concepts from.

That’s it! Those are my goals for this Winter Quarter! What are your goals? Do you have any? If you do, make sure to let me know in the comments below! Thank’s for reading!

BYE!
